Founded in 1994 with the goal of supporting real, positive change, Microfund for Women has grown to become the Kingdom’s largest microinsurance company, with a dedicated focus on empowering women.

MFW is a proud supporter of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a series of 17 benchmarks adopted by the United Nations in 2015. Through its efforts, MFW contributes both directly and indirectly to the pursuit of many of these SDGs, including the goals of ending poverty, reducing inequalities, increasing access to good education, pursuing affordable clean energy, and improving financial inclusion in underserved communities, among many others.

1994

The beginning of change

Started with the Ministry of Social Development as a Microfinance program, with cooperation with Save the Children Organization, and the American Agency for International Development for women’ financial inclusion.
1996

First seed

The program is registered as a local NGO, the Jordanian Women’s Development Society.
1999

A name that changes a life

Microfund for Women was registered as a non-profit limited liability company
2002

MFW achieves full financial sustainability.

MFW reaches 100,000 Beneficiaries.
2015

Leaders in families' insurance

MFW launched its first Micro insurance program,the first in the region (Afyatuna) for the whole family.
