Microfund for Women launches series of activities and programs in celebration of International Women’s Day

Microfund for Women has launched a series of activities and programs and implemented new policies on International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 each year, and is a tribute and appreciation to the role of women in development in various political, economic, and social spheres.

The company’s managing director, Muna Sukhtian, said that the company had launched an e-commerce website for products called soukbaladna.com, as well as the opening of a unique pop up store for the products and goods of our beneficiaries at the Hotspot in Swefieh Village to join a collection of similar popup stores that promote their handmade traditional crafts, goods, and products.

In Sunday’s statement, she explained that the new popup shop would attract the online market, aimed at providing free market participation to several MFW’s entrepreneur beneficiaries.

Also, Sukhtian emphasized the importance of adopting self-initiatives and voluntary programmes at both the individual and institutional levels to support and empower youth and women’s projects, particularly encouraging them to pursue their ambitions.

She pointed out that MFW had adopted a new policy and procedures concerning maternity leave for its employees, which had been extended to 90 days instead of 70 days, and that, in the case of a member of any of the employees’ family had experienced a health issue, the employee can take the day off or ask for a leave. This step was a way for MFW to recognize all the efforts put forth by the staff, both as employees and mothers who had accumulated a lot of duties and responsibilities and overcame countless challenges to achieve the success they aspire.

Sukhtian explained that MFW’s Women’s Day celebrations also included several awareness-raising lectures for women beneficiaries in all 62 branches throughout Jordan. The company sought to expand its community responsibility towards women’s families and society and educate women on essential life aspects.

She pointed out that MFW always sought to provide various financial and non-financial services, which would empower women economically and socially, to become an active and productive member of their family and society by creating compelling and distinct channels of communication and by providing networking opportunities for their beneficiaries, to showcase their success stories and projects.
